“I didn’t come here to be partisan, I didn’t come here to be bipartisan. I came here, as did my colleagues, to be nonpartisan, to work for the American people, to do what is in their interest.”
Those words were spoken by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi nearly three years ago today, when she was asked whether the absence of a single favorable vote from Republicans on the stimulus bill which passed the House on January 28, 2009 was a failure on her part to pass the sort of bipartisan bill requested by the Obama White House.
If it weren’t so gosh-darned serious, it would be funny.
