Daily Reminder: January 24, 2012

While former President George W. Bush often catches flak for reading “My Pet Goat” to a classroom of students on the morning of September 11, 2001, with most critics insinuating that the former president’s reading skills are limited to children’s work, jokers on the left somehow skip punchlines having to do with President Obama’s own interaction with elementary school kids.

Two years ago today, for example, Obama actually went so far as to deploy his trusty TelePrompTer while addressing a groups of three dozen sixth-graders at Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, VA. The White House insisted that the devices were only used for media remarks and not the five-minute address to the students, but it begs the question: if this president is so darned intelligent and confident in his message, why the overkill?

And then Obama enjoyed Paul McCartney making a comment about how nice it was to have a president who actually knew what a library was–despite the fact that Bush worked to improve literacy, and is married to a former librarian. (For pointing this out on a McCartney website I was relentlessly hammered). Of course this is also the POTUS who said nothing when the union leader exhorted this minions to “take these SOB’s out”. Real class, this Obama. He truly does believe in punishing his enemies.
