THINK … WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH:
$54,000,000 ?
HERE’S WHAT OUR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DID:
When the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut were confronted with the reality of declining revenues from its Mohegan Sun casino, they thought plans for a new four-story tribal government center would have to be put on hold indefinitely.
Then, the U.S. Department of Agriculture stepped in. And thanks to $54 million in rural development loans funded by the $862 billion stimulus bill, the tribe received $54 million in rural development loans and built its four-story tribal government center – complete with the brand new, 9,518-seat Mohegan Sun Arena, home to the Connecticut Sun of the WNBA.
