Daily Reminder: January 21, 2012

On January 21, 2010, Congress was in the second of two days of hearings looking into the Pentagon probe of the November 5, 2009 terrorist attack which left 13 dead and 30 wounded at Fort Hood in Texas.

Incredibly, the 86-page report released by the Pentagon in advance of the hearings fails even once to mention Nidal Malik Hasan by name, nor does it even touch once upon Hasan’s Muslim faith, despite eyewitness reports stating unequivocally that Hasan screamed “Allahu Akbar!” before launching the deadly attack, and despite mountains of evidence showing that Hasan had not only been radicalized for years, but that he had also been in contact with radical Muslim cleric Anwar al Awlaki in Yemen.

Hasan’s radicalism was actively ignored during the years leading up to the attacks because of political correctness gone wild; now, ignoring the root cause of the attack in the report on the shooting showed that no lesson had been learned.

Since then, the Obama Administration has officially classified the Fort Hood massacre as “workplace violence.”
