One of the best things about doing what I do here at America’s Right, other than the opportunity to direct folks to relevant news and opinion, is the catharsis that comes naturally from being about to spout off about issues that matter to me. One of my regrets, especially as I witness a contentious election year from right here in the Palmetto State for the second time (the first time was during the 2000 race, when I was working as a reporter for the Seneca Daily Journal in Seneca and Clemson, South Carolina), is that I have not been able to focus more on state issues.
In truth, running an effective state-centric blog is tremendously more difficult and time-consuming than a national blog. Doing so requires a blogger to be more detail-oriented, and it has the potential to be much more effective.
It is for those reasons that I am very, very excited for new acquaintance Jeffrey Reynolds and his brand new endeavor at 54°40′ Or Fight!, an Oregon-centric blog launched today. I know that it might be a little “inside baseball” for many of you — still, I encourage you to check it out for yourself.
I wish Jeff all the best. I had the pleasure of meeting him at BlogCon 2011 a week or so ago, and I have no doubt that he will be successful.
