Obama’s ‘Illegal War’

The Atlantic:  A Clarification

Andrew Sullivan points out something about the War Powers Act said by President Obama while on the campaign trail in 2008:

“The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.

Tee-hee.  There goes another campaign promise.

Why can’t Obama get that really swell Constitution app into his Blackberry?

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) blasted Obama with his own words on Fox News! The Dems are stirred up like hornets over the attack on Libya. Incredible!

    (Another “tee hee!”)

No one has anything to say about this? I’m not surprised. Neither Senator from my state has said anything either, nor has my Rep (from my Congressional District).

This is MUCH more serious than just breaking another campaign promise. MUCH more.

Our Founding Fathers would be shocked by President Obama’s actions. Presidents Washington, Adams, and Jefferson indeed engaged in undeclared wars. However, they certainly had Congressional approval: http://bloodytyrants.com/2011/03/28/obamas-illegal-war/
