Breitbart’s BigGovernment: The Ku Klux Klan, Terrorist Wing of the Democratic Party

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) has falsely accused the Tea Party of having ties to the Ku Klux Klan. Speaking at the NAACP convention, she said: “All those who wore sheets a long time ago lifted them off to wear Tea Party clothing.”

Now is the time to speak some Truth to Power.

It would have been far more truthful for the congresswoman to have admitted the fact that all those who wore sheets a long time ago lifted them to wear Democratic Party clothing. Yes, the Ku Klux Klan was established by the Democratic Party. Yes, the Ku Klux Klan murdered thousands of Republicans — African-American and white – in the years following the Civil War. Yes, the Republican Party and a Republican President, Ulysses Grant, destroyed the KKK with their Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871.

Time and time again, polls are showing that everyday Americans have a favorable view of the Tea Party movement. I mean, even when the left-leaning mainstream press wants to run news stories disparaging tea partiers, the only footage they come up with are of flag-toting grandmothers and toddlers dressed in red, white and blue — unless, of course, they deliberately conceal the truth and manufacture a violent or racist angle to fit their needs.

Point being, even without the needed history lesson about the KKK, the comments made by Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee’s referenced in Michael Zak’s great piece of writing likely fell on mostly deaf ears.  Sure, there are going to be those with an unshakable negative opinion but, for the most part, reasonable Americans simply aren’t going to go along with the farce being perpetuated by Jackson-Lee and the rest of her colleagues on the left.

Nevertheless, as short and as sweet Zak’s piece might have been, I thought it was worthy of Assigned Reading.  It’s always nice to know the truth, and when that knowledge can be deployed and result in a lefty neighbor, co-worker or classmate sticking their foot in their mouth — well, that’s progress.

  1. Sheila Jackson and friends are living in a warped reality. I am so tired of the race card which they desperately pull time and time again. That’s fine; they do so at their own peril.

  2. Boston Blackie says:

It is time we held up a mirror and called out these people for what they are, THEY are the racists. I remember Condie Rice once being asked why as a black woman she was a republican. Her response was that when her father went to register to vote as a democrat, he denied entrance because he was black. The republicans allowed him to register to vote so that is why he and well as she are republicans.
I love how when Robert Byrd died his affiliation with the KKK was whitewashed over(no pun intended)even though he was once Kleagle as well as Exalted Cyclops which I am told are highly regarded positions. I’m sure if he had an R behind his name, the same thing would have happened. Did you know that Harry Truman was also a card carrying KKK member, but just like Byrd it was “only to get votes”. Supposedly when the KKK told Truman not to hire jews or catholics, he became inactive. (reminds me of a line from Blazing Saddles)
The race card, don’t leave home without it.

Would joining the KKK help me get elected? I wouldn’t…., just askin.

PS. Bill Clinton has the dumbest eulogies.
