Behold, the Ever-Important ‘Blue Dogs’

Whether or not Nancy Pelosi can pass health care reform at some point in the next few days depends upon how many of the so-called “Blue Dog” Democrats she can bring to the dark side in favor of her 2,000-plus page legislation. She only needs a handful of them.

During the course of this entire debate, one of the consistently best voices on the right has come from Arizona Congressman John Shadegg, who exposed ERISA loopholes in the bill and really focused nicely on the advantages of opening up the private insurance market to interstate competition.

Rep. Shadegg also did something else to help those who stand in opposition to H.R. 3962 by listing, at his official Web site, the 56 Blue Dog Democrats who will play an enormous role in the success or failure of America.

Until I have the time to go through each one and link to office contact information, please reconcile the names below with the congressional directory HERE. Make a few phone calls this morning, folks. Please.

From Congressman Shadegg, here’s the list of folks we should focus upon:

Great piece… I wish we had that many "Blue Dogs" on our side.. I believe the RINO just might be a tad more liberal than they are.

  4. Rix says:

As expected, no Blue Dogs here in New Jersey. Our canines are of rabidly yellow variety.

  5. Anonymous says:

Looks like the Blue Dogs turned into Lap Dogs late last night. I guess they just couldn't resist those tasty treats Pelosi threw at them.

  6. 2 T-BONES PLEASE says:

How can I get that Outback gift card to you? My blue dog rep John Tanner actually voted NO! I really want to send you and Joanna a CO2 spewing steak to enjoy.

While I normally feel uncomfortable accepting anything, I'm a chunky dude and a hungry one at that.

E-mail me, and we'll figure something out.
