Recall that on November 4, 2008, a pair of thugs in paramilitary garb and holding nightsticks stationed themselves outside a polling place in Philadelphia. Recall as well that they were members of the New Black Panther Party, ostensibly there to act as ad hoc “security” for the polling place and voters. How very thoughtful and civic-minded.
The rank intimidation of voters that ensued precipitated calls for legal action and criminal charges were, in fact, filed by the prior administration’s Justice Department. After the election though, when the Squatter at 1600 Pennsylvania installed as his Attorney General one Eric Holder, the issue landed on that lawyer’s desk. After a review that reportedly lasted for at LEAST three minutes, Holder and his “independent” minions decided that the criminal charges that had previously been filed would be–hang onto your hats–dropped.
The stench rising from that pitard–as if any particular aroma distinct and distinguishable from all the others emanating from every orifice and pore of the Obama regime could be isolated and identified–finally reached the halls of Congress and the desk of the ranking minority congressman on the House Judiciary Committee, Lamar Smith, Republican from Texas. And when the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights blasted Holder for the dropping of the charges–which Stevie Wonder could have seen as being politically motivated–you know there’s a problem.
Outraged at the malfeasance of Holder, Smith demanded last May (unsuccessfully, go figure) that an investigation be opened into Holder’s actions and that the head of the Justice Department’s Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division be made available for a closed-door briefing on the decision. Right.
Better late than never, some action now seems afoot. Hey, after all, the regime needed some cover for the triple whammies of the crash and burn of Obamacare, the revelation that its budget deficit estimates had been south of target by $2 trillion and the lunatic appointment–and subsequent resignation in disgrace–of Obama’s “green czar,” comrade Van Jones.
So now Smith has received a letter from the “acting counsel” of the Justice Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility informing him that the OPR had “initiated an inquiry into the matter” and that it would “contact [Smith] with the results of our inquiry once it is completed.”
Ahem — for anyone out there who thinks (a) that this inquiry is anything other than a deflecting charade by the regime, or (b) that it will result in the reinstatement of the charges against the thugs, get a grip. Fools! Don’t you get it yet? Did you not receive The Memo? This ain’t D.C. any more. This is Southside Chicago on the Potomac. The New Black Panther Party, ACORN, SEIU, ACLU, not to mention ABC, NBC, CBS — they all form the New Obama Cabal. So you’d better watch your step, or Janet Napolitano will hunt you down to screen you for swine flu. And, yes, if you are anything but a liberal Democrat, you WILL be found infected. And “treated.” Somewhere.
Sadly, barring the appearance of some deus ex machina, the only respite from the acrid smell of perfidy now choking the District of Columbia will be the change America now so desperately needs: regime change. And the sooner the better.
But, hey — why so serious? I saw my first “You Lie” and “1.20.2013″ bumper stickers today. Things are looking up.
