Daily News Roundup

I know that Jeff likes to present particularly good articles in individual Assigned Reading posts, but I’ve got a roundup of news articles from today from various sources that I want to summarize all at once.

Hillary Clinton Ready for a Campaign

From New York Daily News this article outlines the readiness of Clinton’s political machine. She’s got millions in the bank and a cadre of full-time staffers on hand. Remember that you heard it here first, Hillary Clinton is going to make a play for the Democratic nomination in 2012. And she is going to pull it off.

Chickens Coming Home to Roost

Rahm Emanuel was the architect of the Democratic resurgence in the House in 2006 and 2008. His primary strategy – undercutting those who believe America has veered left – was to run conservative Democrats against conservative Republicans. It worked, and that’s the problem.

As The Hill reports, Maxine Waters (of the far-left Congressional Progressive Caucus) is placing the blame for Democratic failures (cap-and-trade on life-support, and health care heading off a cliff). This is truly a disaster in the making for the Democratic party. If Emanuel’s plan had not been enacted the Democrats would probably not have a majority in the House and Senate. If they did, it would certainly be substantially less than what it is today. So health care reform and energy reform would not pass, but the blame would be placed on the GOP.

As it stands, however, health care reform and energy reform will most likely not pass – not in any significant form – and the Democrats will have nowhere to put the blame but on themselves. The fact that you see Democrats starting to turn on each other the way Maxine Waters calls out Rahm Emanuel in the clip from MSNBC (see the previous link to The Hill) goes to show just how deep the fractures in the Democratic Party run.

Proof of Obama’s Desperation: He’s Bashing Bush Again

This one comes from the Washington Times. Speaking in Michigan Obama said: “I love these folks who helped get us in this mess. And then suddenly say, ‘Oh, this is Obama’s economy.’” That worked in ’08. It’s a big part of the reason Obama got elected. It’s not going to work so well in ’09, and it may even backfire. By the time votes in ’10 and ’12 roll around it’s just going to turn into a bad joke – on Obama.

I’ve got pieces from Dr. Harvey as well as from Randy Willis submitted and almost ready to go. I’ll have them both up tomorrow, once I’ve had time to sleep. One day of painting left to go!

Way to go, Robert! (One more room to go–bet you are a mess..but I'll bet the house is looking good!)

Did not catch that about Hillary. Thanks. I think you're right about her snagging the Democratic nomination. Too many unanswered questions about Obama/Soetoro and too many people not liking what he's been pushing on us.

Also missed that about Maxine Waters and Rahm Emanuel. Interesting point about the fractures.

I suppose that the reason Obama/Soetoro cannot prove what his real name is was Bush's fault, too.

I just wish Obama/Soetoro had not gone to Needham Broughton High School in Raleigh, NC, to push his socialist healthcare. I graduated from Broughton.

Keep up the good work on the house, and thank you for sharing your time with us.

    nice grouping of stories.

if Clinton has 2012 ambitions she's playing it pretty cool. storyline got me thinking about the possibility … Clinton IS tying up loose ends that anyone might challenge her on. 'cant wait to see how this storyline stacks up in 2012.

interesting graphic at the end of Nostradamus' work: shows two women in 2012 but no story. CLINTON vs PALIN? (just for the record i think nostradamus is vague and he could be referring to any country, however games are fun…)

at the end of the recent presidential election i felt a Clinton Palin fight was a definite reality but after Clinton accepted the Sec-O-State i gave up the idea. NOW U have peeked my interest all over again and timing right for a female president.

    Well put,

    The American Spectator
    July 24, 2009
    By Ben Stein
    We've Figured Him Out
Why is President Barack Obama in such a hurry to get his socialized medicine bill passed?
Because he and his cunning circle realize some basic truths:

The American people in their unimaginable kindness and trust voted for a pig in a poke in 2008. They wanted so much to believe Barack Obama was somehow better and different from other ultra-leftists that they simply took him on faith.

They ignored his anti-white writings in his books. They ignored his quiet acceptance of hysterical anti-American diatribes by his minister, Jeremiah Wright.

They ignored his refusal to explain years at a time of his life as a student. They ignored his ultra-left record as a "community organizer," Illinois state legislator, and Senator.

The American people ignored his total zero of an academic record as a student and teacher, his complete lack of scholarship when he was being touted as a scholar.

Now, the American people are starting to wake up to the truth. Barack Obama is a super likeable super leftist, not a fan of this country, way, way too cozy with the terrorist leaders in the Middle East, way beyond naïveté, all the way into active destruction of our interests and our allies and our future.

The American people have already awakened to the truth that the stimulus bill — a great idea in theory — was really an immense bribe to Democrat interest groups, and in no way an effort to help all Americans.
Now, Americans are waking up to the truth that ObamaCare basically means that every time you are sick or injured, you will have a clerk from the Department of Motor Vehicles telling your doctor what he can and cannot do.

The American people already know that Mr. Obama's plan to lower health costs while expanding coverage and bureaucracy is a myth, a promise of something that never was and never will be — a bureaucracy lowering costs in a free society. Either the costs go up or the free society goes away.

These are perilous times. Mrs. Hillary Clinton, our Secretary of State, has given Iran the go-ahead to have nuclear weapons, an unqualified betrayal of the nation. Now, we face a devastating loss of freedom at home in health care. It will be joined by controls on our lives to "protect us" from global warming, itself largely a fraud if believed to be caused by man.

Mr. Obama knows Americans are getting wise and will stop him if he delays at all in taking away our freedoms.

There is his urgency and our opportunity. Once freedom is lost, America is lost. Wake up, beloved America.

    Hey Robert,

I admire and appreciate all you, Jeff and the other writers do on this site. I have a 2 questions I hope you can answer.

1)I saw part of Hillary Clinton's interview w/ Greta on "On The Record" last week and Greta asked Mrs. Clinton if she was going to run for office and Mrs. Clinton said she was not going to run for any office that she likes what she is doing. Mrs. Clinton went on to say that Obama is doing a good or great job and that he would win again in 2012 and win by a landslide. I'm not quoting word for word but that's what I believe she said in that interview. Do you think she (Mrs. Clinton) was bluffing?

2)Do you think that Obama and his cronies are going to move their ACORNS and any organizations affiliated w/ ACORN around the country(especially)key states so they can win by a landslide? The reason I ask is because of what happened in OH w/ all those college kids living in a house together and they registered and voted in OH when they were already registered in other states. After this was found out several of them withdrew their votes to keep from going to jail and I do not know what happened w/ the rest. These college kids had not resided long enough in OH (registered and voted on same day) to actually say they were Ohioans. The reason I think this is, several months ago my family and I went to eat at Kobe Steakhouse in Nashville, TN and we sat w/ 2 couples. One couple has lived in Nashville along time the other just moved here from another state. The couple that just moved here was loud and annoying. They were ruining our dinner. My 17 year old could not even eat. Come to find out the new couple works w/ AmeriCorp. When I found that out I was ready for the waitress to pack my food up then and there. I know TN is not a key state but Obama lost here. Just makes you wonder. Obama said he would have a civilian army and I believe he does. What's ironic is, we are all paying for it through "our" tax dollars.

    Thanks,
    Michele

    Michelle-

    1. Yes, she's bluffing. She's doing this for three reasons.

First of all, if President Obama manages to rally his supporters and stay up in the polls going into 2012 she won't run because she won't win, and losing does more damage to a political career than not running.

I believe Obama's polls leading up to 2012 will be anemic, however, and so she will challenge him. Which brings us to the second thing: she will step in as the savior of the Democratic Party. You can't appear to eager if you want to run the story of the Good Samaritan, which is how she is going to cast herself. A reluctant American veteran who is wiling to serve her country one more time, blah blah blah.

And finally: if Clinton in any way indicates that she is going to run now – regardless of what happens in 2012 – she will be declaring open war on the Obama White House. That will be bad for the Democratic Party (and thus for Clinton, in the long run) and it would be picking a fight too early. As Napoleon said "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake". Obama is still relatively powerful, but getting weaker. Why fight now?

    2. A lot of the vote-tampering and such from ACORN is not organized, top-down strategy. It's bottom-up improvisation. A lot of the voter fraud isn't even really political. ACORN pays people to register voters, so they register fake voters to get more money. This kind of haphazard criminality is not what systemic voter fraud organized by competent politicians and pollsters would look like.

A gaggle of idiot college kids registering illegally is *exactly* what I would expect from overzealous Obama fanatics coming up with schemes while drunk and/or high. It's not what I would expect from Rahm Emanuel.

Obama and his elite comrades are happy to reap the rewards of this kind of voter fraud when they can, and I am sure they go out of their way to protect and shelter the miscreants who do them favors, but the attempts to tip the election in 2012 will not be based on these kinds of voter fraud. They will be based on the more subtle, semi-legal methods like redistricting and so on. Pay really careful attention to the 2010 census. That is where the real prize lies. ACORN and the rest are just hired thugs.

  6. Michele T says:

    Hey Robert,

Would you look into doing a story on the NEA receiving money from the stimulus package that was passed this year? NEA produces Adult films that includes adults, children and animals. They received this money because the democrats say it is saving jobs in the "Arts". I don't think I'm wording that correctly but I hope you get my point. This was brought up on FOX by a Republican Senator (I didn't catch his name though). This is in Nancy Pelosi's district in San Francisco. They are receiving millions of our tax dollars. The democrats have lost their minds and are truly evil. They may be Americans according to a piece of paper but they are not "true to America".

    Thanks,
    Michele

Hillary Clinton, just like Sarah Palin, can win a nomination but has a snowball's chance in you know where to become a President.

First, sexism is alive and well in the USA. The elites who control our society are quite comfortable with woman being a sexual object (and for some of them, not even that!) or, at best, a housekeeper-in-chief. A shemale monstrosity like current DHS chief might do, but even Hillary is too pretty for them.

Second, both Hillary and Sarah had their personal and political image so successfully shattered by the slobbering Obamamedia that it'd take years, perhaps even decades to recover. Sarah Palin is young and might stand a chance, say, in 2020 but for Hillary, the train's gone.

And third, the 2012 election cycle may have only two outcomes: either the Squatter-in-Chief allows it, in which case Republicans will take over, or – most likely, in my estimate – he doesn't. There is no place for open-end primaries in this scenario. It only remains to be seen whether the Anointed One's opponents will be eliminated by legal means, like Alice Palmer, or his brownshirt thugs will "take care" of them.

I personally do not think Hillary can pull it off. She is part of the debacle right now. Great job in keeping the site going with Jeff gone!! terrific reading.

    Re: Obama/Soetoro vs Hillary –
IF OBAMA/SOETORO can still hang out in the White House until 2012, Hillary will have an easy time getting the nomination. She knows that he will have to prove his eligibility (OH, NO! — LONG FORM, COLLEGE RECORDS, ETC.) and knows he cannot do so. Remember, she had a "secret weapon" in the last election, and I don't think she's used it. That may be why she's Sec. of State now!

Re: NEA receiving tax dollars from
    the stimulus? —

In "The Communist Takeover of America – 45 Declared Goals," there are the following goals copied and pasted (23-26):

    23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."

    24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

    25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

    26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

That removes all doubt, in my opinion.

Google "45 Goals" or the entire title, and you'll find the article, or click HERE.

With all of the states enacting eligibility requirements requiring presidential candidates to file a long form birth certificate, Obama can't run since he still can't reveal his real long form birth certificate.

Hillary knows his game is up and she is jockeying for position.

While I think it was really crummy of the Supreme Court to sit on the hearings, I think suppression actually feeds the national feeling that Obama is hiding a lot more than his birth certificate. I think the people will demand his resignation, probably within 12 months.
