Turn Up Those Hearing Devices, People

Assigned Reading: Charles Krauthammer — Obama, The Grand Strategy
(FROM: The Washington Post)

I don’t know for sure, but I’m fairly certain that the AARP endorsed Barack Obama for president last year, despite his opponent likely being one of the organization’s members. As we learn more and more about Obama’s plan for the reformation of the healthcare system in this country, I cannot help but wonder if Super Poly-Grip, strong enough for corn-on-the-cob, is sturdy enough to eat mass quantities of crow.

Read Krauthammer’s piece. Think about the healthcare rationing issue. Consider how the so-called stimulus plan laid the groundwork for universal healthcare, and how even then I was warning seniors like Pennsylvania’s own turncoat Republican senator, Arlen Specter, about the rationing that would likely take place.

The problem is, neither members of the gang (otherwise known as Congress) nor AARP leaders nor their family members will be subjected to the strictures of the rationed socialized medicine. Most of them are rich and influential, or both, and will likely get richer and mor einfluential by the end of their term, whenever it comes.

I deeply believe that it would be very benefitial for the whole country if all members of Congress would use HMO-grade medical services (and HMO-grade budget) at least for the first year of every terms, just to remind them what other people feel. I am absolutely sure that our healthcare’s quality and efficiency will skyrocket in no time.

Prime reason I won’t join AARP. The health plan for the elderly won’t be necessary as no one will live that long under this proposal. Take an aspirin and call again in the morning. The health care program is set to be rammed through the Congress next week–no reconciliation as reported by Congressman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin. This is being done so O. can claim victory in health care before his 100 days in office deadline as well as to present himself once again on the television airways.

It truly is an outrage. It would be nice to shut down the switchboards in the House and Senate, but I imagine most Americans are uneducated on the true plans with this 17% nationalized health care system. There doesn’t look to be any hindrances in it being passed.

For what it is worth, call your representatives and senators. Maybe some of them will have the courage to stop another monstrous and disastrous bill.

I've been telling my dear wife to be prepared for the new Obama "A&E" health care plan for those over 75.

The "A" stands for Aspirin and the "E" stands for Enema. If the problem can't be fixed by either of those "treatments", you're out of luck.

VETERANS MAY NOW HAVE IT WORSE THAN ANY OF US.

The latest slap in the face for our brave men and women defending our freedoms is the V.A.’s complete refusal to authorize referrals for physicians to see Veterans as patients in community hospitals/clinics.

They MUST be transferred to a V.A. Hospital. Often the V.A. Hospital they refer them to is NOT the closest hospital. This decision includes non-elective (emergency) situations.

In other words, if a Veteran comes through E.R. and is admitted to the hospital, the goal of the hospital/physicians will be to get them transferred out of there ASAP because the Veteran’s Administration will no longer pay a dime for anything in the private sector. That’s right. NOTHING. NADA. ZIP.

As a result, many physicians in the private sector will now be forced to quit accepting Veterans as patients due to these new reimbursement mandates.

Previously, the V.A. would consider referrals to private sector (with mounds of paperwork generated) if the patient lived some distance from the nearest V.A. Hospital, or if it was an emergent situation. NOT anymore.

But hey, if you are here illegally, we’ll roll out the red carpet for you.

    UTTERLY SHAMEFUL!

There is so much evidence proving the ineffectiveness of nationalized health care. But once again, Obama doesn’t care as he rams through his own agenda. Say, I wonder if there will be another 1000 page report on this topic that NO ONE will read, yet will sign anyway……

I was totally amazed when the AARP supported BO. What were they thinking. When people think of national health care, they think it will be free. Little do they know. My cousin lives in Germany where they have socialized medicine. He pays over 50% of what he makes in taxes. The local government came to measure the slope of his roof in order to determine how much to tax him for rain run off that goes into the local street drain. People here wanted hospital costs contained so they got managed care. They weren’t happy about that when they discovered that there were now limits on how long you stay in a hospital and whether or not the insurance company will approve a procedure. The patients and families I worked with could not believe that they could be discharged from an ICU on a ventilator to another facility. They thought they would be in our hospital until they were off the ventilator. It will only get worse.
Since I am now onsidered a senior citizen, maybe I should get that colonoscopy asap before BO gives it to me!
