Perhaps He Should Have Tried to Trick a Democrat

Assigned Reading: Ron Paul Tricked Into Doing Gay Bedroom Scene for Sacha Baron Cohen’s New Movie
(FROM: UK Daily Mail)

I read during study breaks. And, in reading my way through some of the normal haunts, I found this little gem. Apparently, Cohen and one of his three dozen shell corporations wooed Rep. Ron Paul into doing what was supposed to be an interview on Austrian economics, but the libertarian hero instead found a bedroom and, presumably, Sacha Baron Cohen’s new character, Bruno, a gay hairdresser of some sort.

To me, it’s astounding that Cohen–a Cambridge-educated Jewish comedian–could continue to trick anybody at all after the widespread success of the perversely funny Borat. As much as it stinks how Cohen was able to garner an appearance with Ron Paul, part of me wishes that the Texas congressman was able to recognize what was going on and play along a little bit. I like Ron Paul, and he does seem to have a sense of humor — but perhaps this was a little bit over the top. Shame.

Too bad Cohen didn’t try to trick a Democrat — it could have make Barney Frank’s whole week! (But then it would have been Cohen clamoring to get out of the room.)

    That’s too funny.

Don’t be too hard on Rep. Ron Paul; a few million people were wooed into voting for a man who now appears to be an illegal immigrant sitting at the Resolute Desk, embarrassing America overseas, and wrecking the U.S. economy when he’s back in D.C.

    Puss in Hooker Boots-

Thanks for the link! That is a bit frightening! Government-related? Well, it almost has to be! He was carrying his keys, a bottle of water, and some kind of snack.
