Caption These Photos

This weekend, because I have no choice but to spend it studying, I’m going to leave these photos up here (photos from the Drudge Report). Something about them struck me as odd. Perhaps it’s that the reception given to a sworn enemy of the United States seems, I don’t know, just as warm a reception as would be given to an old friend.

Given that the president’s old friends have a lot in common with Hugo Chavez–in that they dislike the United States–and given that the president himself has taken every opportunity he can to apologize for the country he now leads, I guess I shouldn’t be so surprised.

Chavez reportedly gave President Obama a Spanish-language book entitled Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent, essentially a collection of commentaries illustrating how the strong United States has always abused the weak. My first thought: I didn’t know that Michelle Obama’s Princeton thesis was translated into Spanish…

Anyway, caption these photos. My first attempts:

At least he didn’t bow this time.

Chavez: “Barry, did you get those Chomsky books I sent you?”
Obama: “Yes, thank you, but I’ve already read them all.”

Jeff, I believe the word that the youth are using these days that describes your anti-Obama rants is…. “hater”.

  2. GATOR-1 says:

You sure you got this Barry?

    Yea Bro I feels good…

He is the one who harped Change, that picture sure screams it now, does it not?

    50+ posts! WOW…

“Obama: Don’t worry about that. Just don’t let Pelosi take off her makeup. She a double-bagger.”

Gracious Ms Gail….I bout fell outa my chair….

Jeff… WTF? – I respect your site, but this is crap! This is not some f*****g “name the photo” contest we’re engaging in here!

“Caption these photos”, my ass… Who the f**k gives a s**t what the caption is. We all know who and what these two worms are… the photos speak for themselves!

I am sick of Obama, Pelosi, Reid and congress… preparing to relocate if necessary! My home state has drawn a line in the sand and my family is pressing me to move back – “your birth certificate will be sufficient” they say.

BTW – Mr. Obama, unlike you, I can produce my birth certificate!

  4. tm says:

“oh mr. obambi, we both sure know how to stink a room up now don’t we.”

  5. BlueWater says:

1st pic: Obama says, “How do I get in this fraternity?”
2nd pic: Chavez replies, “You suck at the handshake, you got no Hispanic blood, and you grovel like a punk. What’s it worth to you, kid?”
Obama still looks like the kid on the corner wanting a piece of the action, and the real dealers are still laughing at him.

  6. Belloqc's Muse says:

Hey, Chavez, Why don’t we settle these old hostilities in a mature fashion.

    1, 2, 3, 4, I declare a thumb war.

    To Anonymous at 10:35 pm,

We don’t hate the man, he could disappear off to Trinidad and it would be fine with me. We just hate what HE, PELOSI, REID and all the skirt riders, of BOTH PARTIES, are doing to doom this country to failure. A country fought incredibly hard for in the Revolutionary War and every war since.

Second photo: Hey, Hugo, let me show you the new gang handshake!

The glaring thing I noticed in this photo and I am surprised that it is missed in any commentary, is that Presidents Obama and Chavev are using the “black power handshake”. The common handshake is executed with the forearm extended straight out and the hands grasp one another. This is clearly the more communicative black power handshake with the forearms almost vertical and thumbs interlocked. This handshake may be a misnomer, but its history is pretty clear that it originated in the 1960s in both black and white Government resistance movements. Today, it is no longer politically defining, but it is used as a gesture that “we are in the same community.” The choice by Obama to use the “black power handshake” was a public display of solidarity and it was a choice made by a man who likely has a repertoires of handshakes from the one we noticed with John McCain which was stolid, to the double hand clasp and bow with King Abdullah. Obama had choices, wonder why he picked this one

I’m not even going to quote you!

Who licked the red off your apple? All Jeff did was put two pictures up, the same two pictures that are appearing elsewhere on the Internet, and mention that he thought something about them was odd and asked for a caption for them. He wanted to know how they struck us. We simply told him what we thought, but we had a little fun while we were at it.

What was odd about the pictures is that a Communist leader was buddy-buddy with our president. WHY?!!! Obama appears to be less than “presidential” giving a handshake that is unconventional. It looks more like, “Hey, Bro–It’s Boys Night Out! Let’s party!”

So Jeff asked for opinion. Big deal! Go take a nap!
