BREAKING: Gregg Withdraws Nomination for Commerce Secretary
(FROM: Fox News) Official reports are saying that he had fundamental differences with the president on the “stimulus” package and on the White House’s hijacking of the 2010 Census from apolitical Commerce Department control. I don’t care what the reason. I don’t care if Gregg was worried about the stigma of being the only member of Obama’s cabinet to have his tax returns in order. It doesn’t matter to me — what matters is that he has done the right thing. Great job, and great news. Putting principles before power . . . that’s something I’m not sure we’ll ever see a Democrat do.

According to the flash at the Drudge Report, Gregg left little room for speculation as to why he was withdrawing:

[I]t has become apparent during this process that this will not work for me as I have found that on issues such as the stimulus package and the Census there are irresolvable conflicts for me. Prior to accepting this post, we had discussed these and other potential differences, but unfortunately we did not adequately focus on these concerns. We are functioning from a different set of views on many critical items of policy. Obviously, the president requires a team that is fully supportive of all his initiatives. I greatly admire President Obama and know our country will benefit from his leadership, but at this time I must withdraw my name from consideration for this position.

The Real Stimulus Burden
(FROM: The Wall Street Journal) A sobering look at the long-term ramifications of the pork-riddled “stimulus” bill currently working its way toward President Obama’s desk. I cannot summarize the contents of the piece without blowing a gasket — you’re better off reading them for yourself.

Obama Misreads His Mandate
(FROM: The Wall Street Journal) One of two things is going to happen with the aftereffects of the stimulus package: (1) The economy continues to slump, and people realize that their Messiah may not walk on water after all, that this gigantic spending mess put us and our children into a far worse situation than if we had done nothing; or, (2) the economy continues to slump, and President Obama calls another “press conference” in which, like a Miss America contestant, he picks the questions ahead of time and tells the American people how much worse the continued downturn could have been but for the spending extravaganza of early 2009. Either way, Obama has interpreted the results of an election based primarily on everything other than his policies as to mean that he can do whatever he wants without fear of consequences. Like with so many other things, he is wrong.

Left-Wing Radio Host Mike Malloy: Republicans are ‘Domestic Terrorists’
(FROM: NewsBusters) Apparently, because all Republicans who voted against the spending package are “domestic terrorists” who “want the country to fail,” that makes me a domestic terrorist wannabe, as I would have voted against the legislation if only I had been given the chance. Perhaps, as the discussion in America turns from pork disguised as stimulus to the restriction of free speech disguised as the Fairness Doctrine, we should look at the nonsense and crap being spewed into microphones by liberal radio hosts like Mike Malloy as an example of just why they cannot compete with their counterparts on the right. Here’s Malloy’s take on us evil-doers:

They’re worse than useless. These are terrorists. These are domestic terrorists. They want the country to fail, for God’s sake. They want exactly what anyone who attacked this country on September 11, 2001 wanted. The real internal terrorists are the Republicans, I mean, isn’t that clear? Rush Limbaugh is a bigger threat to this country than Osama bin Laden. He’s a bigger threat than anybody that the CIA can invent. He’s a bigger threat than any terrorist that ever leveled its sights against the United States, Limbaugh is, so why isn’t he arrested and sentenced for treason?

Oh boy, Malloy’s mother and the three dozen other people who listen to his show must have gotten a real kick of that, huh? What a moron. What an out-of-touch, idealistic, irrational, ignorant . . . perfect example of the stupidity that permeates so much of the political left. And people wonder why the liberals require government intervention in the airwaves to compete.

Bill Ayers Wants Sarah Palin to Share Talk Show
(FROM: Newsmax) According to a report from CNN subsequently picked up by Newsmax, unrepentant domestic terrorist–and First Buddy–William Ayers has proposed “Pallin’ Around with Sarah and Bill,” a talk show featuring himself and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as hosts. No joke. Now, of course, I can pretty much guarantee that nothing will come of this — after all, Palin is busy running Alaska, and so long as Bill’s taxes check out, he’s probably in line to run President Obama’s Department of Education. As an aside, in the article, he says he still considers himself a “radical,” and considers Obama to be . . . wait for it . . . a “moderate Democrat.”

I just want to make a general comment on the Dems new rallying cry of, “We won, so there!” I heard this from a Senator during the initial discussions about the spendulous package and I wondered who she was speaking to…..? All the people in that room “Won” their elections or they wouldn’t be there! I wish this childish retort would just go away but it is the standard response when a Democrat is confronted with facts.

Gregg WITHDRAWLS himself as nominee for Commerce Secretary!

    Another day, another drama.

    …In Palin We Trust

Respectfully, I submit that you are in error in claiming that the USURPER received a “mandate” from the American voters last election.

There is no “mandate” when that “election” was attended with fraud, lies and misrepresentation on many counts, foremost of which is the USURPER’S constitutional eligibility/qualification as POTUS — an issue that remains unsettled.

In law, there is such a thing as “VITIATED CONSENT” due to fraud!

Who do you think said the following?

“You cannot help the poor, by destroying the rich.”

“You cannot strengthen the weak, by weakening the strong.”

“You cannot bring about prosperity, by discouraging thrift.”

“You cannot lift the wage earner up, by pulling the wage payer down.”

“You cannot further the brotherhood of man, by inciting class hatred.”

“You cannot build character and courage, by taking away men’s initiative and independence.”

“You cannot help men permanently, by doing for them what they could and should, do for themselves.”

    Abraham Lincoln

For someone who wishes to follow so closley in Abraham Lincoln’s footsteps, he sure has VERY different points of view.

Dude, that’s the headline! I didn’t write it. Talk to the folks at the Wall Street Journal.

In which case, the editorial writers of WSJ were wrong, as usual.

BTW, do you know what has happened to the blogsite of Phil Berg? Was it hijacked? What has happened to Linda Starr and Lisa? And of course to Phil Berg himself? Who is “Philadelphia Roof Doctor”? Jeff, I understand you are also from Philadelphia. Do you know if the USURPER had any hand on this UNNECESSARY CHANGE on Berg’s website? Everyone seems to have raised the white flag !

Thanks for any info you may provide. I’m sure there are also others who are just as curious to know.

I am so proud of Gregg!! Jeff, as you said he did the RIGHT thing, something I am also sure we would not see on the other side of the aisle.

As a Canadian, I would further add the following to be assigned reading articles for Americans:

    Go to http://investigatingobama.blogspot.com

Under Thursday, February 12, 2009 read the article entitled Simpson: Democrats Call for “Truth and Reconciliation”; also be sure to read the comments section, the first comment by anonymous is mind-blowing!

Also read the following article http://www.iht.com/articles/2009/02/12/africa/12dubai.php

If you Americans thought your real estate bust economy was a problem, read how Dubai’s artificial foreign capital investment and foreign labour based economy has sunk. The Arabs have 19th century laws, i.e. debtors prison for foreigners and they’ve even passed a law to prevent newspapers from publishing how bad the economy really is!

America used to be an economic powerhouse but now you’ve elected Obama, probably the world’s most deceitful person since Hamas politicians promised the Arabs in the Gaza Strip honesty, transparency and that they would clean-up the corruption of the previous administration (Fatah). Hamas is even worse than Fatah; Obama’s political manoeuvring is frighteningly similar to that of Hamas, right down to stealing the public purse and giving money directly to his supporters!

You’re in deep sh*t my friends!

  13. Old Codger says:

This would be funny if it weren't so [scary?] [disheartening?] [disgusting?][all the above?]. A lot of people placed their trust in Obama and it keeps looking more and more as if he either can't be trusted or doesn't know what he's doing.

CEO Contradicts Obama on Rehiring Employees –Caterpillar Head Says More Layoffs Likely, Even With Stimulus Funding

By Karen Travers and Jake Tapper

"At a Caterpillar Inc. plant in Peoria, Ill., today, President Obama said that his proposed economic stimulus would allow the company's CEO to rehire recently laid-off employees. But the head of the company said he will have to fire more workers before he can rehire anyone who has been let go."

  14. Hal says:

Looks like Teddy Kennedy won’t be there for the Senate vote. Now, if we could only get on of the three turncoats to figure out that they represent people, this porkulus bill would die.

  15. Gail B says:

If this package of pork (with no earmarks) passes, it’s going to be interesting to see what the people who voted for him think when the stores close, when members of their family lose jobs, and when they hear how well the illegal aliens are doing on our tax money. Yeah, gonna get interesting. Some liberal Dems may be tossed out on their pork-laden rosteriums! I don’t think it has hit them yet, what they have swooned into office. But Chairman Obama Soetoro knows….”Wah-ha-ha-ha!” (Such evil.)

Good for Judd Gregg! Now there’s a man with a spine AND principles! (Turncoats Three, an example for thee.)

  16. bdaman says:

D’oh! Caterpillar CEO Contradicts President on Whether Stimulus Will Allow Him to Re-Hire Laid Off Workers

But after the president left the event, Owens said the exact opposite.

Asked if the stimulus package would be able to stop the 22,000 layoffs or not, Owens said, “I think realistically no. The truth is we’re going to have more layoffs before we start hiring again”

“It is going to take some time before that stimulus bill” means re-hiring, he said.

Great news about Gregg! The first good news in a few days.

Bill Ayers is a radical nut who should be thrown out of the USA, or better yet, taken out back and punished for his crimes…

Obama is an idiot when it comes to Lincoln. Lincoln wanted to send all the blacks back to Africa and did not see them as equal in any respect. Of course, I’m sure Hobama thinks the civil war was over slavery. Typical harvard education, I guess.

  18. Seeks Truth says:

Looks like the big O is cooking up a new plan. Another spending bill coming your way soon.
