Another Decent Advertisement by McCain

I’ve been thinking about the chance for a potential backlash against Obama, given the feeling of inevitability about the senator’s presidential campaign. Heck, by the looks of a headline today, The Washington Post already deemed him victorious. I’m not sure, given the amount of support he has from the mainstream media, that such a backlash will emerge, but McCain’s camp does a nice job nonetheless of pointing out a few things.

This advertisement in particular hits on two essential notes — the democrats’ responsibility for high energy prices, and the celebrity-like obsession over an enigmatic presidential candidate who has less experience in relevant work than a typical cashier at McDonald’s.

Nicely done. I hope that these continue.

  1. Anonymous says:

The ad says “more foreign oil” but Obama would cut the US off from foreign oil dependence by using renewable energy. I don’t have any problem with the rest of the ad, but that part is just blatantly wrong.

  2. Jeff Schreiber says:

And HOW exactly are we supposed to become energy independent through renewable energy?

Wind and solar simply cannot keep up with demand, and ethanol is an energy LOSS once the harvesting, shipping, refining and re-shipping processes are done with — in other words, it takes more than a gallon of regular gasoline to make a gallon of ethanol fuel.

I understand what you’re saying about the choice of words in the advertisement, but it is simple — if we are not energy independent, we’re using more foreign oil.

Truth be told, that can be said about BOTH candidates, though only one–McCain–seems to have a plan to do something about it.
