Over the weekend, Iowa Rep. Steve King commented to a local newspaper that terrorists would be “dancing in the streets” should Illinois Sen. Barack Hussein Obama be elected 44th President of the United States of America.
John McCain subsequently apologized.
King cited a number of reasons, including Obama’s middle name and his pledge to immediately remove American troops from Iraq, when coming to his conclusion that “the radical Islamists, the Al Qaeda … would be dancing in the streets in greater numbers than they did on September 11, because they would declare victory in this War on Terror.”
Terrorists DO Support Democrats
Steve King is absolutely, 100 percent right about Barack Hussein Obama — and the same could be said for Hillary Rodham Clinton, too.
It all boils down to “The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend.” These Islamofascists detest America and Western culture, and they would like nothing more than either our complete annihilation or our subjugation to Islam. They detest our freedoms, they detest our equality, they detest our wealth, they detest our military superiority, they detest our position as the number one superpower in the world. To them, America as it exists now is their enemy.
Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton also detest our military. It is evident in Obama’s plan to force our brave men and women to retreat from victory and from honor, and it is evident in Clinton’s statements about the troop surge and about those who fight under the American flag, including but not limited to her now-famous “suspension of disbelief” comment made to Gen. David Petraeus.
Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton also detest our freedoms. Obama would like nothing more than to rescind the right for Americans to keep and bear arms secured by the Second Amendment, as he has advocated for the elimination of concealed carry privileges. Clinton has spoken out repeatedly in favor of the Fairness Doctrine, which runs completely afoul of the First Amendment. Both would inevitably work to erode other freedoms and rights by stacking the U.S. Supreme Court with justices who would make the radicals on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals look like Justice Antonin Scalia by comparison.
Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton also detest our wealth and our equality. Obama has many times advocated in favor of affirmative action, which on its face countermands the very concept of racial equality. Clinton is an out-and-out socialist; her comments in June 2004–”We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good”–cannot be more clear. Both promote programs and ideas on the stump, such as $4000 college credits to every student during every year (not to mention socialized medicine!), which seem to be more comfortably found in the Communist Manifesto than any of our founding documents.
Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton also detest our stature as the number one superpower in the world. Obama’s Global Poverty Act, under the guise of fighting poverty worldwide, would impose a global tax onto the United States, forcing it to commit 0.7 percent of its Gross National Product to foreign aid — that’s $65 billion each year for 13 years (a total of $845 billion) on top of what America, already the most generous nation on the planet, does to fight poverty and respond to disaster across the globe. Clinton, according to her own Web site, “recognizes that Global Warming is one of the most pressing moral issues of our time,” and would do everything in her power to kneel before this junk science and front for global socialism, including but not limited to forcing oil companies to invest in renewable energy or pay into her “Strategic Energy Fund” and placing regulations on American industry that would not be placed on the Chinese or on India, allowing America to decline as an industrial superpower.
The enemy of my enemy is truly my friend, and since both Clinton and Obama hope to do everything in their power to undermine–and eventually destroy–America, of course those who wake up every morning in the Middle East dreaming of our destruction would herald an Obama and even a Clinton presidency as a victory against the United States.
Why else, after the death of Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi, would a pro-Islamofascism Web site use quotes from leading democrats to rally their own people and urge them to continue with jihad?
Why else, as reported by the Miami Herald, would more than 80 attorneys who have been providing pro bono legal services for Guantanamo Bay detainees endorse Obama for president?
Was Rep. King really so wrong?
Apologist-in-Chief for Commander-in-Chief?
This is the second time in as many weeks that Sen. John McCain has quickly contradicted and denounced statements made by conservatives regarding his likely opposition. This is the second time in as many weeks that Sen. McCain has worked right into the hands of those on the left who respond to substantive debate with cries of racial intolerance.
It needs to stop. The apologies need to stop.
Will McCain apologize for questioning the feasibility of Obama’s college credit plan when the Rev. Al Sharpton deems his challenge as being insensitive to Obama’s identification with the tribulations facing inner city black youth?
Will McCain denounce his own statements questioning Obama’s foreign policy plans when Maya Angelou rhythmically assails McCain for being insensitive to Obama’s emotional ties and passion for helping those in Africa?
While it is most unfortunate, considering that America may finally be ready to elect a president of any color or gender based solely upon their beliefs and positions on substantive issues, this election WILL be about race. It has already happened, after all — Clinton was accused of “darkening” Obama on campaign literature, and the folks at Saturday Night Live were said to have acted inappropriately by not using an African-American actor to portray the Illinois senator.
McCain needs to take a stand now. Obama’s middle name is in fact his middle name, and the democrats’ policies do in fact correspond better with the aims and goals of radical Islam than do the policies of their Republican counterparts. That much we know. Such things are not in dispute.
If anything, John McCain should be tossing his gloves to the ice and preparing for a brawl, not donning kid gloves and dancing around relevant arguments.
