Libertarian and Conservative Political Commentary By Ordinary, Everyday People for Ordinary, Everyday People
I absolutely love it.
So do you think that republicans voted for Clinton in the open primaries on Tuesday just to muck things up for the democrats? I think there is evidence to suggest that — in prior exit polls from open primary states, Obama got way more republican and independent votes. This time she got proportionally a lot more votes from these groups than usual. I think the media made a mistake to hype Obama so much as the presumptive nominee. It’s going to be a long time before the whole thing is settled (which is I guess what the republicans were hoping for!)
I DO think that Hillary was aided by republicans and conservatives crossing over in Ohio and Texas, just as John McCain was aided by democrats crossing over in New Hampshire and in several other states.
It is what it is, I’m afraid, though I’d really like to see some sort of simplification of the regional primary process. The fact that party heads are dictating whether votes count in two states, the fact that states are clamoring over one or another to be earlier and earlier just takes away from the process.
To a certain degree, I also bought into the Obama hype and continue to, as I still believe that he will be the nominee. I’ll get more into that in another post…
